Randall Andrew Hill, “Randy”, 59, of Chaptico, MD, passed away at his home on May 24, 2025. Born on July 20, 1965, in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of Catherine Cecelia Hill and the late Charles Anthony Hill, Sr. In addition to his mother, Randy is survived by his domestic partner, Sherry Barber, of Chaptico, MD, Sherry’s daughter, Kimberly Wood, of Leonardtown, MD, and his brother, Gary Glenn Hill, Sr., of Chaptico, MD. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Dooley Hill, Jr. and Alfred Bradley Hill.


Randy was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and attended Chopticon High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for most of his career, including for Bowling Brothers Excavating, Synmat, and the St. Mary’s County Government. In his spare time, he enjoyed cutting grass and riding around visiting his neighbors and family.


The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, MD, with Father Chip Luckett officiating. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Helen, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Hill, Allen Hill, Gary Lyon, Allan Lacey, Gary Hill, Jr., and Andy Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Hill, Roger White, Bobby Buckler, and Robbie Hill.
